Krishna, in His deity form, is at the heart of every ISKCON temple, community and home. Devotees come daily before the Lord to offer service and prayers. When devotees worship the Lord under the guidance of the spiritual master and scriptures, the devotees are able to please the Lord and receive His blessings.
ISKCON Deity Worship Ministry is dedicated to guiding and inspiring devotees in the worship of the Lord. By identifying and propagating the mood and methods of worship promoted by our spiritual preceptors,and through our various initiatives listed below, ISKCON temples and devotees engaged in deity worship around the world benefit significantly from the initiatives of ISKCON Deity Worship Ministry. Some of our more prominent activities are:
* Establishing a global network of zonal representatives for temple visits and local training
* Publishing quarterly newsletters
* Periodic editions of the Arcana Journal
* Mayapur Academy—ISKCON’s premier deity worship training institution
* Administering the deity Installation law, including assessing temples capacity to worship deities
* Revising and publishing ISKCON’s deity worship manuals
The Ministry needs additional funds to continue to provide and expand these much needed services to the ISKCON community. It especially needs additional funding to support its key members who provide full time service with the Ministry. Without such additional support, some members are not able to continue due to lack of basic maintenance to support themselves and their families.
ISKCON’s GBC (Governing Body Commission) generously partially funds the Ministry each year. Additionally, temples many offer travel costs and some donation to the Ministry when representatives visit to offer services. However, even with members being highly active, the donations from temples are ultimately not enough to both maintain the service and the key Ministry representatives who offer it.
ISKCON Deity Worship Ministry expenses include:
* Maintain three permanent staff members, (Including ISKCON Deity minister and North American representative).
* ISKCON deity worship manual (2 books of 400+ pages) pre-production, printing, distribution.
* Quarterly deity worship newsletter, editing, printing, distribution.
* Training of deity worship experts around the world.
Airfares, petrol (gasoline), automobile maintenance.
ISKCON Deity Worship Ministry needs an additional USD 75,000 annually to continue to operate.
Please help us to continue serving and expand Srila Prabhupada's mission of establishing gorgeous deity worship in every corner of the world.
