Dennis Fadden Expense Fund

Good neighbor, good friend, good cowboy.  Dennis is all of these and much more.  Diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2014 he has fought hard to keep living as he always had.  A bull rider, logger, truck driver, farrier and always a rancher.  He has continued to host the Annual Omak Stampede Ride-In, support Junior Rodeos, barrel racing, and many other events with his grand kids.  Unless you knew the struggles, you’d have thought he never missed a beat.  Life went on pretty much as always.  Then this fall, Dennis had a stroke.  It left him unable to walk without aide, a walker or canes.  The first we heard was an odd phone call asking for help – One of the horses was sick with colic and out in the mud - Dennis couldn’t reach him with the walker...

Since that day, we’ve learned much more.  The stroke came just as Dennis was preparing for winter, cutting firewood, bringing up hay for the horses and cows, and the multitude of other projects that need doing before the snow sets in.  

Mounting medical bills from the cancer treatments have drained their resources and now Melanie, Dennis’ wife of 33 years, can only work on a limited basis – Dennis cannot be left alone and there are no funds to hire a care giver.  

If you’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with Dennis or another cowboy like him you know that the stroke has taken his most prized abilities – the ability to work, to help, and be completely self-sufficient and independent.  Money is a constant worry, feed for the animals, wood to heat the house, to pay the mortgage, for food, medical bills, the list goes on…
