My name is Deondre Logan.
For those of you who do not know me I have played basketball all my life and my dream was to one day play professional basketball, something I strived for and worked hard to accomplish. Growing up I played on AAU teams, all through out High School and College Basketball. During my third year of college basketball things started to take a turn. Later on in the year my dad passed away from kidney cancer. In that time I turned to what I know had always been there, basketball. Two months ago (September 2015) I had the opportunity to try out for a professional basketball team, Laredo Swarm. Not too long after I was offered a position on the team and had moved to Laredo. After some time practicing with the team I had felt a change in my left ankle, I couldn't jump like I used too so I decided to get it checked out. Two weeks later I was diagnosed with bone cancer and week after I would have my first chemotherapy treatment. All of this has came out of no where for me, never would I have thought that I would not be back on that court again or have hospital bills out of this world. To start I will be doing chemotherapy for about three months and then I will undergo the surgery afte the surgery I will have another six months of treatment. If all goes as planned I will have a year of physical therapy and hope that I will be able to walk again. As I go through this process I just want to thank everyone in advance for any dontations, prayers and/or thoughts. It means the world to me and my family.
