Derbycon Mental Health & Wellbeing

Donation protected
We as a community struggle with large amounts of stress, mental health issues, and general emotional well being troubles. The purpose of this workshop is to learn about the issues themselves, coping mechanisms, help others close to us, and have a no judgement area to share stories and provide and receive guidance. There will be both structured and unstructured time given in this workshop.

Structured time will include discussions on specific topics ranging from Medication, Recognizing crisis in others, imposter syndrome, etc as well as individuals sharing their stories, coping mechanisms, and own individual research.

Unstructured time will allow attendees somewhere to come and relax in a chill environment, with people to talk to, quiet music, and a range of activities that have been proven to help others with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

With these proceeds we will purchase items strictly for the workshop space. These items include but are not limited to:
- Posters                 - Bean Bags
- Tissues                  - Professional services (chair massages, therapy dog services, etc)
- Snacks                   - Adult Coloring Books
- Fidget Cubes     - Educational Information

Any additional funds raised that are not used, will then be donated to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. (https://www.bbrfoundation.org/)
This foundation awards scientific grants to those working to make discoveries in understanding the causes and improving the treatments of mental disorders, such as depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, autism, and bipolar, attention-deficit hyperactivity, post-traumatic stress, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. They’ve awarded close to $310 million to more than 3,700 scientists in the past 25 years.

I will provide statements and proof of all money donated, where it goes, what it's used for, and what remainder is being sent to the charity listed above.
