Friends and Family...
In loving memory of Desmond Lee Cooke.
One of the most tragic and traumatic losses life can deal out to a person is the death of a child. The death of a child means the loss of more than just a precious life. It represents the loss of future experiences and future hopes. NO parent is prepared for the loss of a child, and when it happens, their world is changed forever. The grief and anguish felt are acute and lasting.
On March 3rd, 2017, my sister and best friend of 28 years, lost her 17 year old son Desmond L. Cooke in a horrific car accident. Desmond was with his best friend at the time of the accident and he was sitting in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. When first responders arrived, Desmond was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our sweet Desmond was a promising Senior at Westlake High School located in Waldorf, MD, and this tragic accident came just months before his high school graduation.
Please continue to pray for Desmond's mother Chrissy and all of our family and friends as we grieve during this very difficult time. Please consider donating to help with any financial needs that arise for her family. Desmond's mother Chrissy is currently a stay at home mother and she does not have insurance to offset funeral expenses. No donation is too small.
2 Corinthians 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 73:25-26 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Our hearts are broken, but not destroyed. Our family thanks you in advance for your continued support and prayers. Please help spread the word!
