Developing Preschools in Malawi

Hello! My name is Sophie Perry, and I, along with my two friends/team mates, Gabriela and Ruben, are currently living in Malawi, Africa, serving for 6 months as Development Instructors. This basically means that we are volunteers. The three of us specifically are working to help develop preschools in rural communities in the Thyolo district. 

Our team has a goal of building :
10 schools
15 gardens
15 play grounds
15 latrines and "tippy taps", a hand washing facility made from materials in the area.

We also plan to conduct teacher training workshops for the community members serving as volunteer teachers with limited education and no credentials, and provide lesson books to each school.  In the video above, you can find slides with a description and cost estimate for each project.  The prices, however, vary slightly from one community to another, due to the cost of transporting materials, the condition of the work site, etc. 

Although it will require a lot of work and energy to do all of this in such a short period of time, it is absolutely possible with your help. With $10,000, we can fully fund all of these projects. By donating, you will not only be helping my team mates and I to reach our goals and accomplish everything we have dreamed of,  but you will doing your part to change the lives of hundreds of families for the better.
