Less Beard, More Lasers!
I'm Merrill, a young trans woman who needs her face zapped with lasers! While I admire a handsome beard on the right face, that face is not mine.
Having facial hair is a big source of anxiety and dysphoria for me, and it makes doing many things in life difficult. My life since coming out has been challenging. I have had difficulty finding employment since starting my transition, and have been unable to get together enough money to make ends meet AND afford to continue hair removal.
I am an advocate in my local trans community, and I have organized events like our innuagural trans lady picnic, community get togethers, and self defense workshops. I have also helped out at Camp Aurora (a summer camp for LGBT* youth). I am especially passionate around issues concerning trans women, such as violence, sex work and access to healthcare.
The money I raise should cover 8-10 sessions, which will be a HUGE step forward.
“Because shaving and putting on a bunch of foundation every day are emotionally exhausting reminders of being trans, she gets a step removed from them by monologuing like she’s explaining them to someone.”
