Diamond Takes On South Africa
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! For those who do not know me, my name is Diamond Spratling and I am a 3rd year student at Bowling Green State University studying Environmental Policy and Analysis with a specialization in International Perspectives and a minor in Applied French.
As some know, I have a passion for working on issues in developing countries such as poverty, education, community health, environmental rights, and government corruption. I have been given the opportunity by an organization called Reach Out Volunteer (ROV) to spend two weeks in St. Lucia, South Africa (May 7- May 20) assisting the work of the World Wildlife Fund in preserving the endangered Black Rhino. I will also be spending the second half of my trip working in Dukuduku Village building classrooms, soup kitchens, and water catchments for children. The money raised for this trip will go towards the following:
General trip cost (includes meals and sleeping accomidations)
Flight costs
Passport
Travelers insurance
Additional costs while on the trip
Although the trip is not until this summer, I do have to put down a $500 deposit to secure my spot as well as pay other installments leading up to the trip.
Traveling to South Africa would mean the world to me and finally give me the exposure to do what I aspire to do in my career. This isn't just a one time trip for me, this is something I want to spend years doing, making a difference in communities and wildlife. This trip will allow me to use my classroom experiences and turn them into real life. My undergraduate career would not be complete if I did not have this opportunity. I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to view my post. I am so thankful to even have this opportunity and I would be beyond appreciative of any amount you are willing to donate!
Please feel free to browse the website and please share the post if you can! Thank you everyone!!
