Hi, everyone! My name is Katie Retondo, and I am a transgender woman, who recently discovered the truth of her identity. I am creating this gofundme for the use of anyone who would like to contribute in any way toward my transition to becoming my true self. It's not exactly easy to transition, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate and love all other people going through the same turmoil. But becoming who you really are... Now that is worth it.
Truth is, I never would have even considered making a gofundme page before now. I felt my cause is far too selfish, and that I'm in no way deserving of any donations. However, after a couple friends of mine suggested they would gladly contribute, I was left shocked. I figured... Why not! It couldn't hurt, I suppose. If anything, it may help encourage other transgender women as well.

My Story
Why am I asking for funds? Well, as a College student from a lower middle class family, I'm not exactly well-funded as it is. Transitioning can be costly, including the price of hormones, therapy, and voice lessons. Simply put, living a normal life is more espensive for a transgender woman than it is most others. I have a job, but it's not paying well enough to make a living. Even worse, I'm terrified of moving forward, when a hirer may turn me away cause I'm trans. :(
I'm not trying to make excuses at all. I understand completely if you don't feel this is a cause worth donating to. But hey, if you have a few minutes, you can read my story and decide for yourself. Every single penny that is donated will go toward my ongoing journey of transitioning. I also have no idea what my goal should be, so simply take the 2000 as a placeholder. If you do happen to donate... Well, gosh. I can't even begin to describe how thankful I would be. The idea of someone who doesn't even know me donating to help me follow my dream... I'd be pretty speechless, honestly. :)
And, I'm trying to come up witih a way to pay anyone who donates back, even if it is small. I'd feel guilty if I didn't!
I hope to one day become the girl who I have always been inside. The picture you see above is from when I used to crossdress... Though it wouldn't really be called crossdressing anymore. Haha
