Donkey Rescue Vehicle Appeal

We have been absolutely devastated here at Donegal Donkey Sanctuary by the news that our vehicle and horsebox were wrecked beyond all repair on Tuesday night as a result of a freak accident.

Without this vehicle the sanctuary is unable to function and all intake and rehoming has been suspended for the foreseeable future.

Late on Tuesday night Danny was returning to the sanctuary after making welfare calls when a freak accident occurred. He emerged unscathed and no other vehicles were involved. Thankfully no donkeys were in transit at the time.

Danny swerved to avoid a deer which appeared at a sharp bend on the road and the vehicle mounted the ditch before plummeting 15 feet into the field below.

Even though the vehicle is insured all indications are that any payment received from the insurance company will fall far short of what is required to purchase a new

vehicle and horsebox to carry our vital work.
