Ease Donna's Recovery!
Spende geschützt
Friends, Family, and Neighbors,
As many of you probably do NOT know, this last week my mom began treatment at Swedish Medical Center for a substantial brain tumor.
A couple weeks ago, Mom started having some speech and mobility problems. She went to see a doctor who immediately sent her to the hospital fearing she had a stroke. MRIs later showed, to everyone's horror, she had a brain tumor that was, literally, crushing her brain. Tuesday afternoon, she went in for surgery to remove as much of the tumor as was safe, to relieve her brain of pressure. Going into surgery, it was our understanding that Mom may not speak, walk, or communicate post surgery. Amazingly she can do ALL of those things, but still needs lots of physical, and speech therapy. It has been a really horrific, and emotionally exhausting week for everyone, especially, Mom.
Another super stressful aspect of this has been that Mom is currently unemployed, and my sister and I are not in financial positions to offer much assistance.
Although, we have not received the pathology results, we are already presented with the challenge of funding the steps we already know Mom will need to take. Not to mention the family stress of not being able to afford to take time off to see/ help her.
I am hoping this campaign will allow us to focus less on funds, and more on getting Mom on the road to recovery, and us ( our family) having the ability to spend all the time we can with her.
This campaign is being set up to help ease the costs of treatments, transportation, and other general costs that we may experience during Mom's recovery.
On behalf of my mom, and the rest of our family, I would like to ask for everyone to please be respectful and thoughtful when it comes to social media, contact/communication, personal space etc. Try to keep in mind that we are all going through a TON right now, and know that if you want to send cards, flowers, etc Hayleigh, Lisa, and myself will be happy to help you. We just really need to not overwhelm Mom.
Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts, all the good vibes, and for all the donations! We love you!
