Donnie Floyd Baxter Jr. was born and raised in Los Angeles California on January 6 1956.
When Donnie was 19 years old hes served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving the people of Alberta Canada.
After returning from his mission he moved to Georgia where he met his sweetheart Deborah Jane Wall. They were later married May 24, 1979 in the Los Angeles California Temple.
Donnie served 6 years in the Air Force as an air traffic controller, traveling around the world.
After 6.5 years battling ALS Donnie is preceded in death by his father Donald Floyd Baxter Sr and mother Della Mae Baxter. He is survived in death by his wife Debbie Baxter, children Dwain (Mindy) Baxter, Desiree Hardin, Daniel (Jennifer) Baxter, Dustin (Jessica) Baxter, Drew Baxter and 9 grandchildren. Also survived by older sisters, Donna Baxter, Shirley Collins, Trudy Andrewsen, Sara Bennett and younger brother David Baxter.
Donnie will be greatly missed by many family and friends but we know he is rejoicing with his parents and in the care and embrace of his loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 8th at 10 am. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3185 Dohlonega Hwy, Cumming GA 30040
Interment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery 1080 Scott Hudgens, Canton GA 30114
