On August 19, 2018, my uncle and aunt, Dr. Howard and Alicia McCalla, received some devastating news from three Naval Petty Officers that their son, Lieutenant JG Asante McCalla, is missing at sea from USS Lake Erie Sailor. They were told that he did not report for duty that Sunday morning. They were also told there was an active search and no other information was given. The active search and rescue efforts are underway in the eastern Pacific Ocean to find my cousin, Asante.
Asante graduated from Parkview High School in Lilburn and has strong ties to the community. He attended and graduated from Morehouse State College on a full military officer scholarship. He was recently promoted to his current rank and was close to completing his Surface Warfare Officer designation. He is intelligent, God-fearing, hard working young man that loves life and always has a SMILE on his face! His energy lights up the room. Not only does he love his friends, but he communicates with his family several times a week.
In search for answers, on behalf of my family, I am asking for donations to help with travel expenses for his parents, Dr. Howard and Alicia McCalla as this is an unexpected travel emergency. They will be traveling from Georgia to California trying to obtain more information on the whereabouts of their son, Asante.
We are trusting God for a miracle to bring Lieutenant JG Asante McCalla home.
No amount is too small. Please share on your social media accounts.
Thanks in advance for your support, love and most of all your prayers.
