A Dream for Evelyn

I've  had the privilege of working with a very talented young woman, Evelyn Obamos. Hers was one of the first faces to make me feel warm and welcomed at work, when I felt like a complete fish out of water. Late one night after work, we swapped stories of our  and I unique histories and I learned about her incredible life journey. She has overcome immense adversity and, despite the odds, managed to make a life for herself. 

More than that, she dared to dream. She dared to create. Her creative passion lead her to invest what little extra time and money she had into her dream for making videos.


But unfortunately, we don't work in the safest of neighborhoods, and unfortunately bad circumstances are not avoidable. I learned that recently her car was broken into, and all of her videography equipment—which took years for her to accumulate—was  stolen from her in an instant.

Evelyn has lost over $10K worth of film equipment. For some of us, this is a minor set-back and those items could easily be replaced. This is not the case for Evelyn. She is the last person who deserves this, and it would be a loss to us all if she is unable to realize her dream.  

So I'm asking those of us who believe in Evelyn to chip in, to at least get her enough video equipment to get back on track. She's much too humble to create this campaign for herself and so I'm starting it in the hopes that those of us who know her and care for Evelyn will help  her pursue her passion and realize her dreams.
