The goal of the Voluntary Euthanasia Party is the passing of right to die legislation throughout Australia.
When Australia's Northern Territory passed the Rights of the Terminally Ill Act in 1995, one politician more than all others, was responsible for its removal.
That politician was the Member for the seat of Menzies in Melbourne's east, Kevin Andrews.
In 1996, Kevin Andrews (with the support of then PM John Howard) put up a Private Members bill. This bill passed by conscience vote.
The Euthanasia Laws Act overturned the Northern Territory's Rights of the Terminaly Ill Act.
ZIP FROM 1997 TO 2016
Twenty years on and it is now time for the removal of Kevin Andrews.
To achieve this goal in the 2016 Federal election, the VEP will be standing its first candidate against Kevin in Menzies. This is in addition to fielding Senate Candidates in Victoria, South Australia and NSW.
To fund this very special 20th anniversary of the Rights of the Terminally Ill Act campaign, the VEP needs your financial support.
