SNAP/EBT Match program
Tax deductible
Dorchester Winter Farmers Market (DWFM) began in 2012 to help bring fresh, local, healthy food accesssible to an underserved community in the surrounding Boston area.
Each $ that is donated will be matched dollar for dollar (1:1) to an individual or a family that is purchasing food at DWFM with their food stamps/EBT/SNAP. Imagine this.. a $5.00 carton of farm fresh eggs, is now $2.50 to an individual or a family using their food stamps/EBT/SNAP. By creating this matching program, our goal is to help the community and the surrounding area have access to fresh and local food.
All donations will be spent throughout the market season of January 27,2018-March 31,2018. The market is open every Saturday from 10am-1pm. Come and join us at the Market! We will have themes and activities for all ages!
We are projecting to match a $40 value each week for approximately 35 people (or family members) to help purchase bread, meats, eggs, and fresh fruits and vegetables if they have used all their HIP (Healthy Incentives Project) for the month. This way, they can continue having access to local, affordable food.
We appreciate any support you can offer, and are looking forward to all that will join us for the Dorchester Winter Farmers Market season. ☃️❄️
