Erica Faith Hagan Donations

Erica Faith Hagan, 22, traveled to Temuco, Chile, in July 2014 to teach English at a Baptist school—Colegio Bautista Temuco— with the intention to return to her family in December of this year. Erica was found deceased in her apartment at the Colegio Bautista in Temuco, Chile, last Saturday (September 6, 2014) . Local authorities are currently investigating the incident as a homicide.

Erica was a recent May 2014 graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. Her passion included helping others, so she decided to spend her first six months after graduation to work as an Assistant English teacher in Temuco instead of attending graduate school.

Erica was a 2010 Valedictorian of Calloway County High School in Murray, Kentucky. This past week, I spoke with Erica’s sister, Kimberly (Hagan) Underhill and her father, Chris Hagan, and, in their grief, they had the strength to give me approval to set up this “GoFundMe” account for their daughter and sister. ALL donations made to this account will benefit the Hagan Family in covering funeral expenses. If we are lucky enough to raise additional funds, the family wants nothing more than to establish a scholarship in Erica’s name at her university – Georgetown (in Kentucky).

We know we have set a lofty goal; however, we want to explain our reasoning:
This account is not only being used to help aid in funeral arrangements, but it is also being used to help carry on Erica’s legacy in the form of a scholarship. Erica’s family wants ALL remaining funds from this account to be used to set up as a Memorial Scholarship in honor of Erica Faith Hagan. Erica took pride in helping others and her family wants to continue this legacy through various scholarships to Georgetown College in Kentucky. She had a great passion for Georgetown College and worked diligently to recruit others to attend. Erica was driven to help those in need. In her memory, we wish to fulfill her dream, nothing more.
