SDA Earthquake Relief Fund - Puebla

Donation protected
Imagine working your entire life to earn everything you have and losing it all within minutes.

On the 32nd anniversary of the Deadly Temblor that destroyed Mexico City, another devastating 7.1 earthquake struck Puebla, Mexico. Thankfully my family members and friends are fine, but there are currently many families who need more than just prayers.

With the support of Sigma Delta Alpha Fraternity, Inc., I will be flying to Puebla, Mexico to help support families in need for ten days.  All of your money will go towards buying tents, blankets, children's clothes, canned food, water, toiletries, diapers, baby bottles or any other necessities that are listed by shelters and hospitals while I am in Mexico.

For the record, I have lived in the town next to the epicenter, Izucar de Matamoros, so I am very familiar with local towns, hospitals, families, and shelters in need of YOUR help. I guarantee all of the donations will be used to support families in desperate need. I started this campaign to offer full transparency as I know many of you are worried about fraud and corruption in some of the Mexican organizations assisting earthquake victims. I will be taking pictures and saving receipts throughout my ten day trip. I am planning on visiting small towns hours from the city in Puebla and Morelos that have yet to receive donations from the government.

I am currently in contact with Movimiento Azteca to have them travel to the epicenter and rebuild homes. They are located in Mexico City, but are willing to match every peso we donate. My main concern about the victims is that most organizations focus on the major cities, but forget about the surrounding towns, which is where most of the lower income families typically live. Half of the funds will be allocated towards providing immediate needs. We have categorized them into the following bags:

Thank you all for your support! You are all making a huge difference! Many of these people are in desperate need as they were already living at the poverty line beforehand. It is devastating to meet elderly men and woman who live on their own with disabilities only to find out that their entire house collapsed. Luckily, Mexico (with the support of many countries) is coming together to help those in need.
