College Bound Oakland Scholars

Fremont High School is a Title 1 school that has a high percentage of low income families. Remarkably, we have increased our student acceptance to CSU, UC’s and HBCU colleges due to our hard work and commitment to college and career exploratory visits for both mainstream students and newcomer (new to our country) scholars. Unfortunately, it is up to academic leaders to “create” or find a way to fund celebratory excursions to reward students for their hard work in and out of the classroom. This has become a huge strain and a struggle especially after the disruptive teacher strike. Our students have fundraised throughout the year all while maintaining their grades and part time jobs. The students attending this trip have been accepted into UC Berkeley, Tuskegee, San Jose State, UC Davis, San Francisco State, UC Riverside, Paul Quinn and many more colleges and universities.

Sadly we are afraid that we cannot fund our celebration in southern California and risk to lose our huge deposit without asking for assistance from the greater Oakland community.
Can you please help our East Scholars eat the fruits of their labor?
