On Sunday, January 29th, Ed collapsed while he was at the gym and was flown to Hershey Medical Center for open heart surgery. He suffered an aortic dissection, which is when a tear occurs in the inner layer of a weakened area of your aorta. Blood surges through the tear, causing the inner and middle layers to separate (“dissect”). As diverted blood flows between the tissue layers, the normal blood flow to parts of your body may be slowed or stopped. We are praising God the aorta did not rupture completely as Ed wouldn't still be with us. Ed has been in ICU since the surgery and has a long road to recovery.

We know that there are going to be a lot of medical bills, time off of work for both of them, and potential modifications to their house to accommodate Ed. I have no clue what goal to set here as to what is realistic, but any amount helps and is so much appreciated.

Anyone who knows Ed knows that he gives 110% to anything that he puts his mind to. If you ask for his help, he will be there. If you ask for his guidance, he will take time to think through it and give you the best answer. He is loyal and loving and caring and that has been so evident by the outpouring of love and support we’ve seen.
We appreciate everyone’s concern and prayers so much. Thank you!!
