Eduardo Montano Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Approximately 9-10 months ago, my dad, Eduardo, at 46 age, suffered a sudden stroke, paralyzing the right half of his body, and leaving him unable to perform any daily living activities or talk. He is bed bound and will have the tracheostomy for the rest of his life. Prior to this, he’d suffered 2 strokes in a span of 6 years but they did not affect his movement or judgement. Unfortunately, this time it left him paralyzed and unable to do anything.
Rushed to the hospital following the stroke, my dad spent months doing therapy in hopes of recovery. He kept being transferred to different rehabilitation facilities but due to infections related to the tracheostomy he continues to return to the hospital. He is also bed bound, unable to move which is cause his muscles to weaken and bones deteriorate.
My grandma has spent countless days looking for somewhere to place him (nursing home, rehabilitation centers, etc.) but because of my dad’s young age and limitations with his medical insurance she received rejection after rejection.
Completely out of options, the doctor suggested he be sent to my grandma’s house with home health and weekly therapy. Despite having a small business to run, my grandma and her husband took in my bed bound dad. Unfortunately, my dad’s condition requires 24-hour attention leaving my grandmother awake most nights caring for him. We can only afford one nurse, who comes twice a week, resulting in my grandma and I caring for him most of the time.
This fund will help us pay for nurses, medical bills, home health, therapy and any additional needs in this LONG recovery process that has been happening.
Please consider donating and partnering with us as we work to alleviate the financial stress, with the hope of allowing Eduardo to be free to focus on his recovery.
Thank you in advance for your donations and prayers!
Michael
