Edward's Wish
UPDATE: Leukemia took the buoyant life of Edward "Ed Dog" Malin after a 13 year battle on July 6, 2017. In his honor, his mother, Sarah, has planned, not a funeral, but a Memorial Celebration of Life. She plans to fulfill Edward's dream of having a retreat where the sick can go to heal in peace. This project was already begun by family and friends in Puerto Rico. However, it is a long way from completion. Edward wanted everyone to feel the healing power of his "happy place" in Puerto Rico.
ORIGINAL POST: For those of you who know Edward "Ed Dog" Malin, you are quite aware of this remarkable story. Edward was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 4. Since then, he has been in remission NINE TIMES. Through it all, Edward effortlessly manages to keep a level head and a sense of humor about life.
With a vengeance, Leukemia has come back once more. At the age of 17, Edward has fought harder in his life than a child should ever have to. He has undergone numerous experimental treatments. But, to no avail, the most recent treatment has failed.
We need your help. At this time, Edward is preparing to come home to be cared for in the company of his family. The home nursing care is very costly. This service, along with other anticipated expenses, is out of reach for Edward's family. Obviously, TIME is of the essence! No donation is too trivial. Please help!
