The Euraba Paper Company is a group of talented Aboriginal Artists and dedicated community members from Boggabilla in Northern New South Wales, Australia.
The Euraba Paper Company was established in 1999. The founding members include May Hinch, Marlene Hinch, Joy Duncan, Adrienne Duncan, Margi Duncan, Stella O'Halloran, Gloria Woodbridge and Isobel Karkoe.
The Artists specialise in handmade paper made from 100% cotton offcuts from the local cotton and clothing industry.
The Euraba Paper Artists were the winners of the NSW Parliament Art Prize in 2010. The Artists have been exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW and in the 2012 Sydney Biennale.
Euraba means 'place of healing' and the enterprise seeks to overcome the local community problems of long term unemployment, youth crime and illiteracy. Through selling their unique handmade paper and artworks the women involved are dedicated in working together as a group to make a difference in their communities.
We are writing on behalf of the Euraba Paper Company to endorse these good hearted people, who are working together to close the gap for Aboriginal people in their community.
We are only asking for a modest amount to help cover the running costs including phone and internet. The Euraba Artists don't want a hand out, but a hand up so they can get back on track and keep doing their amazing work.
We ask you to help us in raising money for the Euraba Paper Company. Please share with your networks. Any offer of help would be much appreciated.
