Elderly veteran with collapsed roof
Donation protected
A 73-year-old veteran, with no family, and a fixed income has lived in his family home for 45 years. The hole in his roof is now filling up multiple buckets when it rains. He gets up several times a night to empty them. And, this is his bedroom. He told me he sleeps with plastic pulled over his bed when it rains.
This page has been set up by me, a concerned passer-by (no more), who wants this kind, elderly gentleman to be warm and dry. He asks nothing of his neighbor and always has a wave and a smile from where he sits in his window with his two kitties. He never married or had children, and his only sibling died young.
The veteran fishes in Mt William pond almost every day, and he watches over his neighbor's homes when they are away.
All funds will be used for material and labor to reroof and to shore up the house front where the roof has collapsed. A retired builder is volunteering some of his hours for this project.
I have driven by this house for too long. It is getting cold in New Hampshire, so if you feel moved please contribute to give this sweet man a little peace and warmth in his final years.
I value our veterans and our elderly. And my heart breaks for the poor.
Thank you for whatever you feel moved to do.
