Elijah Dillard Child Abuse Awarenes

Donation protected
On March 1, 2014, 6 year old Saginaw resident died a senseless death at the hands of his parents who intentionally brutally beat him for days after he tried to stand up for himself by making his school aware that he was in danger. Elijah suffered a broken tailbone, blood hematoma in his lower back, blunt force head and abdominal trauma and 3rd degree burns in which all of these injuries led to his cardiac arrest and ultimately ended his life. Elijah’s three sisters also suffered emotional, physical and sexual abuse. “These horrific, traumatizing and violent assaults against this 6 year old warrior and his sisters is something no child should ever have to endure.”- Omarr Dillard

As you can imagine the family and the community are in an uproar and even in our sadness we are adamant about making sure no child ever has to experience abuse. We are now taking action by establishing The Elijah Dillard Child Abuse Awareness, Prevention and Healing Organization, a grassroots effort to raise awareness first in our communities and then nationwide to stop the epidemic of child abuse in all its forms.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and we are launching the premiere of our first traveling stage play, “Breaking the Silence: The Elijah Dillard Story.” The play is being presented to bring awareness to Elijah’s beautiful spirit and his life and his merciless killing and the deaths of thousands of other children hurt and killed by child abuse every year.

The play has been co-written by Elijah’s uncle and aunt Omarr and Ta-Tanesha Dillard and B. Wendell Parker. It will be held at the SVRC Building, 1000 Tuscola St., Saginaw, Michigan on April 24th & 25th and May 1st & 2nd.

We thank you in advance for your support. Your support will not only help us make this a great event, but will assist us with our fight against the epidemic of child abuse so that those who are murdered will not die in silence and those that live know they are not alone.
