Eli's Big Fight
Donation protected

Eli is a bright, happy, active, smart, loving 2 and a half year old little boy and his world and that of his family's changed at the end of November 2016 when he was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of cancer called Ectomesenchymoma. Only 44 cases are known of this type of cancer worldwide, and of those cases, only 6 have occurred in the last 10 years.
He needs to receive ongoing treatment at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital for the next 18 months- including chemotherapy, surgery to remove as much tumour as possible, and radiation therapy. His Mum and Dad are currently by his side, whilst his siblings- Ava 9yrs old and Jaxon just 10 months old- have to be cared for back here in Gladstone at the present time.
The financial pressure is on the family as they are split up currently, trying to keep the Gladdy household running, expenses of staying in Brisbane, and of course travelling back and forth to Brisbane. Because of this, the pressure has been on Dad to return to work in Gladstone ASAP, so he continues to care for his family both here and in Brisbane by working 4 days on and 4 days off.
This GoFundMe page hopes to alleviate some of the ongoing financial pressure and to provide some support and assistance at such a difficult time. The kind generosity of others provided a means for the entire family to be together in one place for Christmas just gone, which they are extremely grateful for as they were able to make some lasting memories for the tough times ahead.
Eli has now finished induction chemotherapy and has moved to the harsher part of his regime this week (18th Jan 2017). It is a trying time for everyone, and Dad is still travelling back and forth to help care for Eli and relieve Mum so she can snatch the occasional couple of hours of uninterrupted rest to keep her functioning in her full-time caring role of Eli.
Ongoing travel costs every week to Brisbane is expensive- especially with fuel prices soaring in recent days.
It would be wonderful to continue to help support the family as they continue to maintain two home bases- here in Gladstone and at Ronald McDonald House and Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
