We are raising money to help a family that is in need of help in a very difficult time. Elizabeth Ambriz was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and a friend to so many people. She had Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 5 and was given 6 months to live by the doctors. After her mother refused to further subject her to more radiation treatments my mother Elizabeth Ambriz made miraculous recovery. Little did our family know this was just the beginning of her journey down a long difficult road. She later began to have many more medical complications resulting from the type of chemo she was given. Doctora told her that she would never sustain a pregnancy but despite that she had managed to have me her only son. My mother had her spleen and thyroid removed before the age of thirty. In her mid thirties a doctor diagnosed her with congestive heart failure. Her arteries and valves were severely burned by the radiation treatment's she recieved as a child. This led to her having to have open heart surgery which took her over a year to recover from due to her weak immune system. After she began to start to feel healthy again it wasn't long until she started to get night sweats and pains she couldn't explain. We later found out she had Hodgkin's lymphoma again and proceeded to go trough the necessary treatments. She beat cancer again she was so brave and so strong. After some time once again resilient as ever my mom bounced back although she had lost her hair and her chemo pain never went away she never let that take the smile off her face. She continued on for a few years until her heart began to fail once more in July of 2016 she was hospitalized for over 5 weeks where she endured excruciating pain. The doctors told her she needed another operation on her heart but it was not a viable option at that time due to her fragile state. We were told that she needed to go home and rest and try to strengthen her heart to sustain the stress of the operation. She was unable to work and lost her jobs (my mom had 2 jobs she was a very hard worker) which also led to us losing her insurance because the only way she could get life insurance was through her job. Due to all her medical problems no company would insure her, she couldn't pass the physical. Me, my wife, and my Tia's, (aunts) did our best to take care of, and support her while she waited for her disability benefits to arrive. Well they never came... On Saturday December the third of 2016 she vomited blood and I called an ambulance immediatedly. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she bravely fought. My mothers fight ended on December the 6 at 5:15 P.M.
My mom was a single mother who worked many jobs to make sure I always had what I needed. She was also very special to a number of students that attended windfern high school where she worked after her open heart surgery. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Bright, beautiful, with a smile like no other that was her. A lot of us love and miss her so much. Please help me and my family lay her to rest with dignity the way she wanted. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who so many people loved so much, I love her too and I just want to do the best I can to carry out her wishes.
