Ellaina Pancreas/Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Ellaina was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 6. Her diabetes has always been out of control due to insulin resistance and her pancreas has never worked.  In 2004, she was diagnosed with Necrotizing Fasciitis (flesh eating disease) due to a fall.  She was told at that time that she would never have children due to the damage from that fall.
In 2010,  she had Miles.  He took a toll on her kidneys just by her carrying him to 30 weeks gestation.  He was a miracle!  From that point on, she had issues with her blood pressures going to stroke level.  In 2012,  she was pregnant again!  Here came Bannon!   This was the last straw that her poor body would take.  She was admitted to St. Vincent Women's Center in Indianapolis for 5 weeks to GET her to 30 weeks gestation.  She had round the clock Albumin infusions because of her blood pressures being dangerously high (high 200s/120s!)  At that time, she was told that if she had another pregnancy, she would not survive.
In October of 2015, she was started on dialysis 3 days per week.  At that time, things looked very bleak for Ellaina.  In all truth, we knew it would end up this way.  The one movie that I cannot watch is Steel Magnolias.  That is Ellaina.
She has been on dialysis since that time.  She had started the transplant process through IU Transplant Center, but it kept going nowhere.  It felt like she was getting the run around.
She was told by a friend who had just received a kidney transplant, about switching to Jewish Transplant Center in Louisville.  The dialysis nurses faxed her info and on the very next day they called her for a phone interview.  Yesterday (Monday March 5th) was her full day of education!  It has only been 2 weeks!
As a mother, you cannot imagine the struggle of seeing your child so critically ill and not being able to do anything about it.  I am setting up this gofundme account to help Ellaina with costs of travelling back and forth to appointments, any medication needs, dressing supplies for post transplant, and any other needs she may have in this transition to receive a pancreas and a kidney.  The wait list for BOTH organs is much shorter than the wait list for just a kidney.  According the the transplant staff, only about 15 people receive both per year!!  A list of #15!!  That's it!
Please consider organ donation to possibly save 1 or more lives.  Also, please consider donation in honor of Ellaina Marie Davidson!
Thank you so very much!
