Ellen's Vehicle Modifications

Ellen was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy as a child and as a result is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Ellen doesn't complain that she can't get herself a glass of water, reach for her husbands hand or wipe her own eyes, she gets on with life. Ellen completed a business degree at the university of Newcastle and went on to work for 5 years.
As the result of an unfortunate accident and an adverse reaction to pain medication Ellen went into respritory failure in 2011. She spent many months in intensive care on life support. She would now require to be on a VPAP machine day and night.
After four years of physiotherapy and rehabilitation she was finally strong enough to continue studying at Southern Cross University to gain her Law degree to hopefully work as a volunteer providing free legal services in particular for the elderly and disabled.
Ellen has approached the NDIS to assist with the costs of vehicle modifications so she can attend classes and medical appointments. They remorgaged their home to purchase a new car that was within the NDIS guidelines. Unfortunately they were denied the $44050.00 needed due to "unknown life expectancy" and "safety concerns". Despite the fact, the original NDIS planner, a Doctor, Occupational therapist and two physiotherapists supported the modifications.
So they now have a new vehicle that Ellen is unable to use.
I can't stand to see this stop her from reaching her goals, so please help Ellen. She is the most deserving person I know, she is always giving of her time and knowledge.
So please get behind her, anything you are willing to do to help is appreciated.
