Ellie's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
This go fund me page is for my sister and her husband, Melissa and Ryan Dunlop, my niece Emma and their dog, Ellie.
Ellie had been spending the week with relatives (Ryan's parents) near Balmoral, MB. On the morning of Saturday, March 4, 2017, Ellie and Ryan's parents' dog were let outside and shortly thereafter a gunshot was heard. The dogs were called back to the home and as they were coming down the driveway, Ryan's mother noticed that Ellie had been shot in the right hind leg. She did her best to try and stop the bleeding and transported Ellie to Stonewall Veterinary Hospital. Ellie was stabilized and Melissa and Ryan were told the fortunate news that Ellie would survive, however she had to have her leg amputated.
Ellie had to stay in the hospital for two long days and finally had her surgery Monday, March 6, 2017, which turned out to be successful thanks to the great care she received from the staff at Stonewall Veterinary Hospital. She has to stay one final night for observation and will be going home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, praying that there are no complications.
(Please note, the next photo of Ellie's amputation may be graphic for some people)
This go fund me page is to help reduce and hopefully cover the medical costs for Ellie's surgery. Not only was this very traumatic for them but now they have to bear the financial burden after someone's unspeakable act of animal cruelty. Please help by donating even a small amount to lessen the stress that their family has to endure during this already difficult time.
We are so grateful that Ellie can still be with us and she will now be even more spoiled than she already was!
Thanks everyone for your help and support.
