Rancho Del Sueño is the equine division of Heritage Discovery Center, Inc. (HDC), a 501(c) 3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to the preservation of the Colonial Spanish Wilbur-Cruce Mission Horse.
There are less than 200 of the historic Spanish Cruce Horses left in existance. All contributions will support the effort to save this endangered breed from extinction.
Our ranch is the only facility that is actively dedicated to the preservation of the Colonial Spanish Wilbur-Cruce Mission Horse. We are currently home largest and most diverse gene pool for the breed that exists.
These baroque-type horses are pure descendants of those that were brought over from Spain in the 16th century to help build the New World. They have been genetically isolated from the development of today’s modern sport horses and have retained the personality traits that were vital for living in the close contact with humans that was required of them back in the years of the great horse cultures.
The horses at Rancho Del Sueño help educate the public on the breed’s historical and cultural significance and are used in holistic horsemanship therapy and experiential education programs.
We are in desperate need of funding to help us save this very special and important equine breed. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. These horses have changed lives and will continue to aid in healing and educating humans as long as we can support them. The cost of feed, farm maintenance, and veterinary care are tremendous financial struggles that we are challenged with daily.
We are a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible and will be directly applied to the care and preservation of the Colonial Spanish Horses at Rancho Del Sueño.
