SEEDS: A COLLECTIVE VOICE VIDEO PRODUCTION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION THROUGH THE ARTS

What we do
For more that 3 years, we have been working on raising awareness about ancient seed preservation and working for environmental education through the arts...

We created what is called the Community Seed Mural Project/Seeds A Collective Voice which include making murals with seeds in community while educating diverse communities about different environmental subjects. In our visits to all locations, we made available all the supplies, offered art instruction for free and we hired educators & experts to share their knowledge with students at school & communities.

Everyone loves It!
This project was greatly embraced by the community of New Mexico and beyond... It has expanded into areas of Mexico and New Zealand as a few of the participating artists took the concept to those places where it was also embraced.

It has been a labor of love...
For our part, all of the work we did, creating these murals, supplying materials, coordinating visits to schools and events, all outreach, research and the making of educational handouts, (which we distributed to participants) was pro-bono. We spent untold hours coordinating with partnering organizations, artists and volunteers. In the end we created 10 murals with seeds in community and visited over 100 locations. Our public art installation in partnership with the Education Dept at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico was a succesful culmination of the first phase of the Community Seed Mural Project.
We donated all the seed murals to public spaces.

Why we need your help
Continued demand for the project has brought us to Phase Two where we are working on engaging other artists and organizations to take on community seed mural creations under the auspices of SEEDS: A Collective Voice in order to organically grow and spread our mission.

This is where we need your help!

We are are beginning the process of producing a bilingual (Spanish and English) video that explains our mission and how to create seed murals in community  - from A to Z -  including the educational and outreach components of the project.  The video will explain the materials needed, how to naturally dye seeds, what our environmental message is and how to teach sustainability, solution-based methods for helping to ensure seed preservation, saving bees and related issues.  It will also discuss how to create local partnerships and outreach with other educators, farmers, environmental groups and seed preservationists. By making this video available to schools and organizations, we can continue through them to expand the project and our mission and to grow in the global way we have been: educating communities through the arts while making beautiful collective murals  and learning how to coexist with our environment and with each other in a healthy way.

But we need more resources to create a video that is up to professional educational standards.

High demand and no resources.
We already have in line 17 underserved schools in New Mexico that are waiting to create their own community seed mural project with our guidance - and the number continues to grow!   With your help we can make it happen for them and so many others.  Your help will ensure that The Community Seed Mural Project has a myriad of platforms to continue to sprout environmental and community awareness and sustainability solutions for our planet.
