OUR STORY; My name is Kayla and my bestfriend is an older mare "Rain" whos long term history has been rough on her and mostly unknown to me.my moms neighbor joe purchased her from  an auction some years back and she came with a big scar down the left side of her neck, a balding face and a crimped left ear. joe tried to ride her shortly following her purchase and she toosed him off and his leg was boke. He then sold her to my mother.... A couple weeks went passed and as she looked onto the pasture she noticed a beautiful lil foal.... My heart and soul...."Bronson" after he turned two i bought him and my boyfriend at the time bought rain.... We split up and he kept Rain and Bronson. I got a call one day that Bronson my beautiful boy was sick. He was in heart failure and had to be put down. That left Rain mourning her child and only companion. I wanted to fix things for her, give her life purpose again! Rain had free run over an abandoned 6 acre property she was skittish and not handled only feed but allways soo gentle. My heart bleeds for her as she has fought through soo much  she will never be able to tell of the horrors of her past life or how much she misses bronson. But you can see it in her eyes. When her bad eye flared up and became infected I was then told "by the ex" I could take her and I have made such great strides!!! from feeding and befriending her again and corraling her in a small enclosure  to transporting her to my own property.... but these strides did not happen quick enough. She was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (cancer) of her eyelids. I want to give her every chance at success that i can. The goal at this current time is $5000 for debulking the tumors and photodynamic treatment to kill the cancer cells... Has 80% success rate And at the moment I am scrambling to raise the money for her surgery by hopefulling selling my car and go fund me. She is not ready to give in to her cancer and I am drawing strength and courage from her to help her fight!!! We are a broken duo with much healing to do together!!!  The both of us lack the proper training to undergo such a major transition if she looses her vision and time is sooo crucial as her sight is fading.
