Congratulations! YOU did it!
No more graham crackers and milk for DPS students.
Thank you. You not only helped pay off a huge lunch bill for 3,264 Denver Public School students, you helped changed policy. The DPS school district has announced it will no longer feed students graham crackers and milk or cold cheese sandwiches if their parents can't pay their lunch bills. Instead, every student in the district is now guaranteed a hot lunch to help them grow and learn. That's because of your donations to KidsGiving365.
To every mom and dad, grandparent, aunt and uncle, and the many children who donated $1, $5, and $10...thank you!
Also, a huge thanks to Kids Cooking for a Cause!
Award-winning Chef Elise Wiggins of Cattivella Wood-Fired Italian taught kids and their parents how to make a yummy back-to-school lunch, and donated 100% of the proceeds to the unpaid bills!
Also, Rachel Chaparro of Grace + Sky Homes donated more than $1,000 for the food and labor in the cooking class because she's passionate about ending hunger for at-risk children.
Finally, a huge shout-out to the Magoon family. Their kids sold lemonade to raise money, then donated it to the KidsGiving365 Graham Crackers and Milk campaign. The kids didn't want their classmates to be "shamed" or bullied because they couldn't afford a hot lunch.
Together, we impacted students in Denver Public Schools forever. Thank you.

What's for lunch? Graham crackers and milk.
Join KidsGiving365 and erase school lunch debt
In Denver, dozens of students this fall will start school with a lunch of graham crackers and milk. That's not a lot of food to fuel learning and kill the hunger pains. But their parents have fallen behind on their school lunch fees and are in debt.
A lunch for a student K-5 is $1.85. A meal for a student in grades 6-8 is $2.10 and a lunch for kids in 9-12 grade is $2.60.
The debt follows the students from grade to grade, district to district, until graduation.
As of June 1, 2017, Denver Public Schools say the outstanding lunch is $15,000.*
Can you help us wipe out the debt with a donation? Your donation will wipe out last year's lunch bills for 3,246 students!!
This can be a learning experience for your own kids! Get them involved this month with creative ideas like selling lemonade to raise money to help other kids.
Please join KidsGiving365 and help pay off the school lunch debt for kids in Denver.

KidsGiving365.org is creating the next generation of givers by making community service a way of life for young people. When children volunteer, studies show they learn kindness, respect and empathy. They also do better in school and are less likely to become pregnant and try drugs.
KidsGiving365 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Our mission is to inspire life-long giving.
Yes, your business, church, club can also get involved! Thanks!
*Our goal is to pay off the entire debt before the school starts on August 21, 2017. As of today (August 2, 2017) DPS says the debt is $13,910.90. that amount does not include 5% GoFundMe fees, 2.9% credit card fees, plus administrative costs.
Anything donated above the lunch bill will go toward KidsGiving365 programs that support the poorest children living in the Denver Housing projects. The donations provide back-to-school supplies, clothing, shoes and gifts during the holiday season.
DID YOU KNOW? Every $30 serves 1 more child with school supplies and year-end support. Every $100 provides 3 more children with supplies and support. Because of generous donors like you, KidsGiving365 was able to help more than 2,600 children living in Denver's poorest neighborhoods and engage more than 7,000 participants in our community programs.
