A NEW CHAPTER
Erin Hickey is a single mother of a 1 year old son. She has had a rough time getting her life on track over the years, but she recently had begun a new chapter. She has a job where she is loved and valued, and together with her boyfriend of 8 years, she had started to build a new life.
On Friday June 22, a tragedy changed her life forever. Erin passed out in the shower on Friday night, and remained unconscious for many. many hours. Due to the position in which she fell, the circulation to her legs was lost and when she finally awoke on Saturday afternoon, she could not walk. She managed to get a phone call out to her boyfriend, who rushed over with the police and raced her to the hospital. Her condition was so grave that she was put into an induced coma for days, as doctors struggled to find a way to save her legs. When Erin was brought out of her coma, she was given the horrifying news that due to the tissue damage to her legs, they would both need to be amputated above the knees. Her kidneys were also devastated by the incident, and she would be kept alive by dialysis for the rest of her life. With the love and support of her Son, Boyfriend, friends and peers, Erin made the decision to fight for her life.
Her family here at Penn Fabricators/Northeast Quartz are asking for your help in supporting Erins' fight back to life, the beginning of her Next New Chapter. Whatever amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
