Ernie Sykes' Medical Expense Fund

On March 8, 2017 Ernie came to visit my Dad for his 81st birthday.  While visitng, Ernie sufferred a stroke of his own.   

I rushed Ernie to the hospital where he was immediately placed in ICU for one week and then sent to inpatient rehab for an additional two weeks. 

For the past 12 plus years, Ernie has only toured as a musician as his schedule allowed because he stayed at his Mom's home in NY caring for her the majority of the time. 

Ernie's recovery is going to be a long process and as you can imagine funds are needed.  Immediate funds are needed to continue therapy so that he may regain complete use of his right arm to play that bass again.

Ernie's career began at the age of 17 with his Dad's band, The Sykes Boys.  He later joined The Bluegrass Cardinals and went on from there to play with:  Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe, The Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, The Renos, Mandy Barnett, Harry Fontana and the Tennessee Tone Boys as well as a Sideman to countless others.  Currently, Ernie is on tour with the award winning group, The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band. 

Ernie needs your help, our help, everyone's help!  Please donate anything that you can so that he may continue therapy and have a little money for everyday living expenses as he is now in Nashville until he is well enough to return to NY.  As you can imagine, this put an immediate burden on financial costs for caregiving for his mom as well.  Anything helps and is so very much appreciated.
