Especially For You Scholarship

I am a part of Danbury High School’s Peer Leadership with Susan Schullery. My group, Alasandra Primavera, Sarina Gersten, and I are involved in a community change project. In our community, many students are in foster care and extremely poor and difficult situations. Thus, these kids do not get the same opportunities as their peers. Therefore, we are creating a scholarship fund - The Especially For You Scholarship. This scholarship will allow students who are part of Family and Children’s Aid to apply so they are able to buy a prom dress of their choosing. We want to make them feel included. Also, we are creating a boutique of prom dresses at Family and Children's Aid in Danbury. To raise the money for our scholarship and to build our boutique, we are hosting a networking event at Family and Children's Aid on March 23rd. For the event, attendees will pay $20 to attend, and we ask that a piece of formal attire be brought to donate to our boutique. For those who cannot go, we are still taking donations for these students. Everyone deserves to have their night to shine, and these kids deserve much more than that.
