Ethan Hawks Family Ongoing Expenses
Donation protected
Whittier Christian Herald junior Ethan Hawks was injured in a serious car incident on Saturday, November 19. WCHS IS RAISING MONEY TO HELP THE HAWKS FAMILY WITH ONGOING EXPENSES. WE ARE SO HEAVY-HEARTED TO REPORT THAT ETHAN PASSED AWAY EARLY IN THE MORNING ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH.
Here is what happened...
Ethan's mom was driving him down the 57 freeway on Saturday when a piece of metal of some kind came through the windshield at a high velocity and struck Ethan on the right side of the face and neck. The most serious damage occurred when his carotid artery was severed. He also sustained extensive damage to his jaw and cheek bone. Ethan's mom was amazing in the face of this, and she was able to reach over to the passenger seat to try to control Ethan's bleeding as well as drive him straight to the hospital herself. Her quick thinking certainly saved his life.
Ethan underwent numerous procedures by a variety of doctors to try to help him. He was placed in an induced coma to keep him still and keep his physical functions as calm as possible.
Ethan's dad and sister were in Pennsylvania, but made their way to his side, and the family was all together when Ethan went to be with his Savior. They are also being helped in tremendous ways by Ethan's uncle. It is an amazing family unit that was working to help Ethan!
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for Ethan's family. It will be a long haul for them in the coming days, weeks, months and years.
Your donation will certainly help the Hawks family in their time of need! Thank you for your generosity.
NOTE: We have set up a Trust Account for these donations. It is being monitored by Attorney Cara Hagan and we have complete trust in this process for the Hawk family. Cara Hagan is working directly with the family to make sure the funds go to them for their needs.
If you have any questions, feel free to email Herald Athletic Director Rolland Esslinger at Whittier Christian High School.
