Meet Ethan,
Ethan is my soon to be Nephew and the most amazing little boy ever.
He is 13 years old and severely suffers with a condition called Jacobsen syndrome.
Jacobsen Syndrome, also known as 11q deletion disorder, is a rare congenital disorder resulting from deletion of a terminal region of chromosome 11. It can cause intellectual disabilities, a distinctive facial appearance, and a variety of physical problems including heart defects and a bleeding disorder. It is a very rare condition and its believed to occur in approximately 1 out of every 100,000 births.
Ethan is unable to talk or walk without aid and has had various changes to his home environment to help him including a special space tent bed. He has proven every medical theory about him to be wrong and has fought for thirteen years past the three months his parents were advised he would live.
Regardless to all of this he is the happiest little boy ever!
In his life he has had a grand total of 14 Operations from head to toe and is about to undergo his 5th Spinal operation, because of this he needs a new wheelchair. The family needs one that can give him high quality seating that he can self-propel but that can also be controlled by his mum when needed.
Due to the severity of Ethan’s condition his wheelchairs starts from £3000 (e4000). His parents have to purchase this themselves. I would like to try and raise some money toward this if I can to help with the cost.
If anyone can contribute it would be great.
