Evansville Shakespeare Sound System
Donation protected
Evansville Shakespeare Players has been providing free Shakespeare in the Park to the greater Evansville area for the past 7 summers. Founded in 2011, we have performed quality Shakespeare productions in downtown Evansville at the Riverfront Pagoda until our move last summer to the ground of historic Willard Library. The move was wonderful and brought record-breaking crowds. We are very grateful for the attendance and the donations.
Until recently, we have performed with very little technical assistance. The past 4 years have brought an donation of lights to truly see the action of the play. Every year, however, we have been plagued with sound issues. Performing outdoors has its own unique problems. From skateboards, traffic, and trains, all of these compete with our very talented crew of actors. Following the move, it became clear that we are in need of a state of the art sound system that can keep up with out very active actors and withstand the elements.
While we make a modest amount of money to finance both our winter and summer productions, this has not been enough to purchase the equipment needed to enhance our technical aspects of the productions. It is with this, we turn to you, our audience and fans. We would love to continue to provide the quality productions that you love while making them even better. The money raised from this campaign with go to purchase quality body microphones for our actors as well as a quality PA system to carry their wonderful voices. Any remainder money will go toward updating and expanding the lighting equipment. Any donation amount is graciously accepted.
THANK YOU for being a community that not only accepts and supports two community Shakespeare performances a year—but, embraces them! We love and appreciate you, more than you know.
Sincerely!
