Everest's Hockey Season 2016-17
Donation protected
Everest needs your help to continue to pursue his dream of professional hockey!
Everest Schneider (15 years old) is the first South Texas kid in recent memory to qualify for the 2016 USA Hockey National Camp in Amherst NY. This boy is very good and he is from South Texas, where snow is a very rare sight.
Everest is a natural. He has developed to a high level despite very limited available resources. Many kids have benefitted from far more extra-curricular training, yet he has achieved the highest level of recognition offered to 15-year olds. As citizens of South Texas, we can all be proud of what he has achieved.
Not only is Everest an extremely skilled skater and player (Everest has been selected as team captain for several years and was typically the points leader, even as a defenseman), he is also a gifted student and has always pulled his weight (his GPA for the 2015-16 school year in AP classes was above 100%). He has also been a humble, likeable boy with good friends and no enemies.
Everest is starting his sophmore year of high school. The goal is to achieve divison 1 by college time, and professional play thereafter. It is highly probable that Everest will earn a college scholarship due to his grade point average and his athletic skill.
In the world of hockey, the path to professional play starts very early and this is an important year for Everest to advance to a AAA competitive team... a very expensive proposition. Unlike football, basketball, and baseball... there is no public funding for the sport in most states. And after a successfull showing at the 2016 USA Hockey National Camp, a collection of the 192 best 15 year olds players in the country (Everest was in the top 8% based upon points earned), it is time for Everest to move beyond South Texas.
We need help getting Everest through his first year of AAA play. His performance at the USA Hockey National Camp landed him an opportunity on the Colorado Roughriders, one of four AAA teams in the front range of Colorado. Expenses include billeting fees, tournament travel expenses, and team fees through approximately April/May timeframe. Total expenses approximate $20,000, or about $3300 per month, starting August 15, 2016.
All doners will have a place on a permanent list of donors never to be forgotten and to receive special opportunities as they come available.... promotional items and invites to watch Everest play when possible. I'm going to create an affordable T-Shirt for all doners of $75 or more.
Everest is a very good kid and a joy to watch. Please support Everest and own a piece of one of the best hockey players to emerge from South Texas.
I have loaded many videos onto YouTube over the years. You can watch him develop over time. The latest video is the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) Camp....

... which took place in May 2016 and was the qualifying obstacle to the USA Hockey National Camp. I will soon post video of the national camp from July 2016.
Thank-you very much. I cannot overstate the importance of this to Everest and his family, nor how appreciative we will remain for your help. When you are blessed enough to have a child with great skill, you feel like it is your responsibility to lift them up to take full advantage of their skill. We have devoted all of our resources to this effort since Everest was 4 years old and would like your help to ensure he crosses the finish line.
