SHOW INFO
Ever afraid of her own morality, playwright and cog in the machine, Madeleine Brown invites her audience to question their own.
"Everyone Wants a T-Shirt!" is a rallying cry, a reflection of generation Y's search for purpose and the ridiculous things we do to fill that void. Our audience has probably clicked on an article, heard a song or streamed a television episode capitalizing on feminism at least once today. They likely didn’t question their choice. They didn’t consider the greater implications of it. Or why it’s so prevalent in their lives. But despite this ignorance at the very least they know: they are a feminist.
Inspired by the original “The Future Is Female” t-shirt (designed for New York City’s first women’s bookstore in 1972), "Everyone Wants A T-Shirt!" follows Beatrice Little who must ascend the ranks of an imposing pyramid scheme. Peddling “Women Rule The World” t-shirts, pancake mixes and portable batteries in the name of feminism, Beatrice encounters a cast of characters like her desperate to save the world, find community and define their own identities.
