Help Us Buy Our Building !
Donation protected
Hello sweet, virtual village!
We are raising monies for the down payment and fees for our building! We only have 2 weeks to do so, last day 12/12/20!
We are stoked to be fully funded! We still have another week of fundraising and thought we could create a stretch goal!
If we get to $75,000 on GoFundMe, we can
1.) Build an awning & handicap ramp, and
2.) Buy the garden lot next store that we have built on and use. Guaranteeing it a green community & rest space
We have been on the corner of 2400 Coral Street open to the community since April 2015 as Franny Lous Porch ! We love it here and we love our tribe. And we want to continue to extend love to our neighbors in the most safe and sustainable way!
Amid all the wildness of adjustments during the virus transitions, the current owner of our building put [it] on the market. We have a lender we are working with that helps businesses buy the building they are operating in. But now we need to final step in securing our down payment. And as a community space, we are reaching out into our beloved community to make some magic happen. Together we are stronger !
What would it mean for us to buy the building?
-Sustainable & long term presence in the neighborhood.
-Opportunity for a black and womxn owned building .
-Opportunity for us to keep our message pulsing in Philly
-Continue to create viable jobs in a profit sharing work environment for marginalized peoples.
...
We already have some partners committed to offer us grants that will be in addition to what we are raising here on GoFundMe:
-LISC : $5,000
-The Merchant's Fund: $20,000

Our mission:
Named in honor of Frances EW Harper & Fannie Lou Hamer
Franny Lou's Porch is a warm space engaging in community activism, cultural awareness, relational business practices, a vehicle for advocacy, and most importantly, a place of rest. Our desire is to be a place that is intentional in connecting to our neighbors and our products. It is a place to encourage those who want to be simple, healthy, and aware.
We are a window and catalyst for the black community, as well as other marginalized peoples. We build rich community members by educating and voicing our human experience, as well as how we are designed to grow & support one another. Our hope is to continue be a space where people can connect, rest, and mobilize.

We partner with local artists and neighbors to create and foster our community space. Here is a dope muralist Joshua . check him out
We create monthly newsletters to connect more with our neighbors and promote aligned local businesses and organizations. let us know if you are interested in advertising. Shot out to the House of Umoja (run by a descendant of Frances EW Harper) and Philadelphia Community Bail Fund
We host, promote, and partner with great events and skill shares empowering our community to see how capable and amazing we can be as individuals and a greater village, creating new patterns, and offering a better future for our world.
