'18 Dominican Republic Mission Trip
Donation protected
In 2014, William Slikker, an orthopaedic surgery resident at Rush, worked tirelessly to start an orthopaedic surgery mission trip. Since that time, we have continued to travel to Peralta, Dominican Republic to help the underserved. Traveling with all of the needed supplies and implants, we operate on patients who otherwise would not have access to care. Last year we performed 31 procedures. Residents who have gone on the trip say it was a highlight of residency.
We are planning on returning this year with 5 residents, and are raising funds to help finance the residents' airfares. Any amount would be greatly appreciated in order to decrease the financial burden that the residents would otherwise have to pay.
We greatly appreciate all of those that contributed last year. Your generosity was invaluable, and allowed the residents to participate in the trip without any expenses.
Again, thank you so much for your support.
Best regards,
Monica Kogan MD
