'Kidding' at Edinburgh Fringe 2018

We are a new theatre company taking our debut show the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2018.
When did you last speak to your mum? Last week? Last year? We’ve been asking everyone from grandparents to school kids. The stories they’ve told us unfold the parent/child relationship in all its beauty and bathos, silliness and sadness. From ironing a nine year old’s crumpled geography project to coming out to your mum. Childhood homes for sale. Getting older and parenting your parents. Voicemails and dial tones and things left unsaid, until now.
‘Kidding’ is a verbatim piece, and as such all the words you hear will be taken word for word from real discussions with real people, from all walks of life. We’ve taken their stories, combining and remixing them, to take you to those tender, irrepressible places inside us all where we’ve never really grown up.
We have made a show we are immensely proud of, and we want it to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. So, we are absolutely committed to covering all costs that Edinburgh might throw at us. That way the project can be open to more artists, regardless of financial background. We believe diversity in theatre is more important than ever - so we would be grateful from the bottom of our hearts if you helped us make it so.
