Life update; not good. Not good at all ...

Back on the 21st I had a work injury working at the Moda center. We were building. Stage when someone from the rafters screamed out "watch out, heads up" (or something like that) no more than 2 seconds did it take me to see people on the otherside of the platform scoot back, I was in a place I couldn't run anywhere safely, I looked up, dozens of chains were swinging, a very large led wall that was hovering flat about 20ft from the floor was swaying back and forth and it was hovering over the only space I had to run out. I was trapped in a U shaped 2nd floor stage. (Sorry, hard to clearly explain right now). Also, I could hear a chain coming down from above (a chain-run).

As I looked up and saw all of this and everyone running, my first thought was under the deck, only safe place is under the deck. I was technically right. However, when I dovee under the deck ihit a crossbar with my foot, I somehow twisted and landed on a pipe, with my full weight in forward motion across my back.
I laid there for a bit not having a clue what happened then 2 coworkers helped me up and out from under the deck. I sat out in the hallway with an ivlce pack and when I felt a bit better I went to the ER.

Feb 21st. Er visit 1 results: "According to the xray it looks like you just bruised some muscles nothing looks broken. Take it easy and take ibuprofen"...oooookay. (1 wk no work)

Feb 28. ER visit 2 resulsts: "let's get a cat scan"..."well according to the cat scan you have wedge fractures on your t2 t3 t4 and t6. According to a scan from last year it might have been there before but I'm going to refer you to a specialist because you could just need PT or you might need surgery to fix that" I've never been seen for any fractures on my spine or told about it. This was apparently seen in a scan done to see about my shoulder issues last year...so ok, let's see a specialist. Doctor gave me some muscle relaxers and pain meds, not just told me to take ibuprofen....(1 wk no work)

March 6. ER visit 3: doctor orders MRI and based on results tells me "well, I see the damage on the vertebrae but according to what the tech who did the cat scans said that breakage was already there so this all is just a muscle strain. Take your muscle relaxers 2 times a day, try to take your pain pills as needed and back to work with no restrictions"...he then checked a blister on my big left toe I got when I kicked the post that popped earlier at the hispital and just said to keep it clean.

We had to fight to get 2 days off of work and that was returning with no restrictions...told the nurse I'd be back in 2 days then.

March 8. ER visit 4(2 days later): I show up around noon feeling 100x worse. The whole time I've had pain from a headache to neck issues, shoulder pain, spine pain, lower back pain with a bad cough making the back pain even worse. They give me pain meds to calm me down, which helped a bit. A doctor comes in and I explain the whole ordeal. Another Dr comes to check the popped blister. Fully infected, which would explain how the pain from 2 days ago got 100x worse.

So I've yet to get my spine issue taken care of because the infected toe was more important so the infection doesn't spread.

I've been in the hospital since Saturday. Unfortunately, I've lost the big toe and during surgery the Dr noticed infection spreading and I am scheduled for another surgery on Thursday, the 14th and I will be losing the remaining 3 toes........ ...I'll be here another week, week and a half if everything goes OK. Then I have to heal and start on figuring out the ongoing, killer back pain and learning to walk again.

It's great finally making good money, working 40hrs a week and earning $1500, minimum, doing what you like, then not being able to work...

Life, ugh.what am I supposed to do when all I try to do to be healthy and move forward lands me here, losing 4 toes, losing money, losing time with friends family, loved ones. Losing time for me.

More to come...
