Community Care Request

Hey friends,

Wanted to thank everyone who participated in this fundraiser. Your support has continued to enable me to continue searching for full time employment, pay bills, and eat during two layoffs and a time of severe financial instability.

**UPDATES**: I have been navigating DHS’s process for temporary assistance all summer in 2024 to meet a dead end.

I currently owe an outstanding balance of $1640 in back rent through 9/30. I’d love nothing more than to be able to pay off the rest of the back rent owed so that I can channel my energy into releasing music, finding a work life balance that meets my current life circumstances, and so I can plan to leave Rochester in the next few years to be with my partner Travis in Pennsylvania. His support has meant the world to me during this time; as we figure out how I’m going to move forward with this process, I appreciate any and all of your extra community support.

I’m intending to raise $1200 of the $1640 owed through the last run of this fundraiser. With your support, I expect to be able to clear it this month!

In my first launch of this fundraiser, I thought it was weird to tie this to music. Now I'm realizing that the financial hurdles that have persisted since December 2022 are what have directly contributed to my inability to show up for my musical community and my creative self -- which, in my opinion, is the way I best contribute to my friends, my community, and the world. Being able to have the means to continue living in 2024 means having the freedom to continue pursuing professional development opportunities that align with my musical skills and abilities I've already acquired, optimizing countless hours and $ I've already invested into making it this far, and giving back in the way I am best trained how and most stimulated to give back; through music.
