10 Toilets For Special Children In Sri Lanka With Davud A.
Donation protected
The initial project goal has been successfully achieved; thank you so much for your support and love!
The original project goal was to target the highest priority group of kids, those with the highest urgency for toilets. If you are still considering supporting the project, those additional funds will be used to build 12 additional toilets for the safety and privacy of other girls. This means we need an additional 12,000 USD(18,400 AUD).
Please note campaign currency is in Australian Dollars as the Suriya Foundation is registered in Australia as a charity organization.
10,000 USD is approximately 15,600 AUD.
While we are chasing luxury in our lives, some kids in Sri Lanka lack basic human needs, such as access to proper toilets.
Considering those beautiful children have special conditions such as cerebral palsy, microcephaly, and Rett syndrome, that increases the urgency for special toilets even more. They cannot squat and always depend on their parents (typically the mother).
When we visited the houses, the current toilets were not only not disabled-friendly but also in terrible condition. They are often dirty and run-down, have squat toilets (without commodes), and are not appropriately covered. That raises hygiene and safety concerns, mainly for girls.
Therefore, I am working with the Suriya Foundation, which is already doing a tremendous job supporting special kids with special needs in Sri Lanka. They strive to create a safe and inspiring place for special children to learn, grow, and reach their potential.
Our goal with 10,000 USD (15,600 AUD):
• build 10 disabled-friendly toilets for 10 kids who have the highest urgency;
• 1 toilet costs approximately 1000 USD;
• If we exceed our goal, the additional funds will be used to build 12 additional toilets for the safety and privacy of other girls. It means we need an additional 12,000 USD for this.
All the funds collected will be transferred directly to the charity account. Thank you for being part of the community and making a difference in those kids' lives.
