Support 10 yr old who lost everything in Palisades Fire

Hi! I'm Jacqueline Ganzoni from Venice Beach, California. I have been lifelong friends with Marisa and her family and have known her daughter Gaby since she was born. She's now 10 years old.

On January 7, 2025, my friend Marisa and her family lost their home in the Palisades fire in Los Angeles. As the fire ignited in the hills, 100 mile-per-hour winds fanned the flames and drove the fire toward the village of Pacific Palisades. No formal evacuation notice had yet been given, even though embers were flying through the air and smoke was increasing. Worried, Marisa’s family quickly grabbed a few belongings and their pet cat Nala and drove to safety as so many people were escaping the nearing flames in the Sunset Boulevard traffic. They managed to secure their ride to safety--but never could return home. They lost everything, even her daughter's school, when their apartment building burned.

Marisa, her daughter, and the rest of her family are safe yet reeling from this devastating loss. Anything you can contribute would be gratefully received. Like so many, we hope to help our friends recover through this trying time in their lives, and assist them in their next steps of rebuilding their sense of home.
