1000 miles for a 1000 smiles

Donation protected
Sadly on November 4th 2024, whilst at home with the people she loved by her side, Eve lost her courageous battle after her four and a half year fight.

So although our story has changed, my determination to help Eve has not, If anything it has strengthened my resolve, I will now walk every mile in her memory. I feel a great pride and honour to continue to do this to remember Eve, support her sister Hattie and all the other families who still need our help. She fought a battle no child should ever have to fight. She lived to the full with a smile on her face and never a complaint. She is an inspiration to us all and I'm proud to have had such courageous Niece.

Our original story below...

In April 2020, my niece Eve was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour – after receiving surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, in May 2021 she was declared cancer free.

Tragically In September 2022 on a routine scan Eve was told that she had relapsed resulting in heart-breaking news for any parent or child as the treatment was to start all over again.

Eve has been receiving treatment since January 2023 and in August 2024 was due to start radiotherapy in Birmingham when again her life was turned upside down yet again discovering she had now developed AML Leukaemia.
This would now mean a complete change in treatment with the priority now focused on AML Leukaemia.

Sadly, this has become a very fierce treatment process, resulting in the way Eve is now having to live her life.
For any teenager at this stage in your life, it's all about going to school to be with your friends.
Eve doesn’t have this choice, Eves not able to go to school, see her friends and generally not able to be a typical teenager.

As much as this is about Eve, she has a strong family and friend network supporting her through this including her younger sister Hattie.
Although Eve even still manages to torment her uncle!, this in a true Eve way with a smile on her face and pure determination to get through this.

Eve is a true inspiration to anyone; this has inspired me to challenge myself in 2025.
I want to help Eve, and her Sister (Hattie) have something special to look forward too as well as supporting Brain Tumour Research, Ward E39 at the QMC and various other charities that have supported my Niece along the way.

I would like with everyone's support to give Eve a choice of something she would like to do, maybe to see a George Ezra live concert or her dream Disney Holiday.

So….. In January 2025 I will be kicking off my challenge of walking 1000 miles ending in October 2025.

This will consist of completing every UK Ultra Challenge along with a few others to rack up the miles and hit that target!
I will be doing every mile, but along the way friends and family have offered to join me too which means the world to me as they know what this means to me and my family!

In all of this I think it’s important to highlight the awareness that Eve has had no choice in any of this for the past 5 years, but she has done everything they have asked of her.

I please ask to support generously.

We make a life by what we give , We can't help everyone but everyone can help someone.
